About the new prime minister

So it looks like Canada has a new prime minister.
Huh?
We have a new prime minister.
We do? How come nobody’s talking about it?

But there was no election.
Nope. We don’t elect the prime minister.

That’s right, they just appoint a new one.
What the hell? He’s the most powerful politician in the country, and someone just appoints him?
Pretty much. We didn’t really elect the last one either.
So no one voted for him?
Well, a small town in Quebec elected him in the last federal election.
That’s stupid.

So what’s the new guy’s name?
